Tasting Notes

Bodegas y Viñedos Alion, 2003

Tasting Notes: Ruby red with violet undertones. Powerful entrance, full palate with fruit and refine wood together. Very persistent finish.

Food and Wine Pairing: It combines very well with sirloins and other cuts of grilled beef, with roast lamb, pulse stews, dishes such as the fabada from Asturias , zancarrón and mountain, Castilian and Madrid cocidos.

Bodegas y Viñedos Pintia Toro, 2004

Tasting Notes: This concentrated red delivers plum, blackberry, coffee, mineral and game flavors, framed by muscular tannins that soften on the finish, where the fruit lingers.

Bodegas Vega Sicilia Tinto “Valbuena 5”, 2002

Tasting Notes: garnet red in colour, this wine shows tobacco and mineral notes, with dried cherry and spicy notes and well-integrated, softening tannins.

Food and Wine Pairing: The wine, combines well with soups and vegetable dishes such as porrusalda, ratatouille with egg, or green beans with foie and poultry such as free range chicken or capon.

Bodegas Vega Sicilia Unico, 1996

Tasting Notes: Intense cherry in colour. The aroma prevails with hints of roast from the wood, and touches of hazelnut from its oxidative evolution from its years in the cask. It has generous tastes of old but clean wood, with dry tannins that are pleasantly embittered by the oak, together with the sensation of its light sweetness of its alcohol.

Food and Wine Pairing: Goes well with meats and game, both grilled and stewed, pasta dishes, soups, vegetable dishes such as beans with ham or red cabbage with bacon, fish dishes such as hake in sauce or fish stew.

Oremus Mandolas Dry Furmint, 2005

Tasting Notes: This is an exceptionally fine dry wine, using grapes which have not been attacked by noble rot. A light touch of oak adds body.
