Weekend of Golf and Culture at Baroda – 26/27 March 2016

Mr. Shivajirao Gaekwar has organised a Weekend of Golf and Culture at Baroda for the Cambridge Society of Bombay and the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India.

A brief summary of the programme is given below. The dates are Saturday 26th March and Sunday 27th March 2016.

Day 1 (Saturday, 26th March 2016)
Morning
Arrival in Baroda.

Afternoon
Private tour by an expert of the Champaner Fort, a World UNESCO Heritage Site.

Evening
Sit-down Dinner (Black Tie) at Laxmi Vilas Palace.

Day 2 (Sunday, 27th March 2016)
Early Morning
Complimentary round of Golf at the Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club – one of the most stunning golf courses in the country followed by refreshments at the club house. Those who wish to walk around and not play the round of golf may of course do so.

Mid – morning
Private tour of the world famous Raja Ravi Varma collection of paintings at the Maharaja Fatehsingh Museum by the curator followed by a talk about the museum and the collection.

followed by

Private tour of the Laxmi Vilas Palace, among the world’s most beautiful private residences, followed by tea at the palace.

Early evening
Departure from Baroda.

Logistics and costs:
Cost of the trip, to and fro to Baroda, will be borne by each person depending on their choice of transport to Baroda and within the city. Baroda is connected with Delhi and Mumbai by daily direct flights in the mornings and evenings as well as direct rail services.
Hotels range from INR 3,000 up to INR 10,000 depending on category.
Cost of dinner: To be finalised, but approximately INR 2,000 per head.
