Literary & Art festival – Words in the Garden

Vikram Lall, a Cambridge alumnus and president of the society,  has been involved in launching a new literary and art festival, ‘Words in the Garden’ and we are delighted to invite you to this festival. It is being held on the 24th and 25th of February at India International Centre. Delhi is not only a city of power and prestige, it is also a major center of Culture, Heritage and Creativity. A City which renews itself; imagines itself anew; offers immense possibilities; is a city providing evocative residence for innovation and imagination.

“Words in the Garden – A Celebration of Literature, Arts and Ideas” – the festival proposes to both explore and celebrate Delhi through Words, Ideas, Expressions, Discussions, Dialogues, Readings, Exhibitions and Performances.

Delhi has also been a city of great poets who sang of it, celebrated and suffered it, explored it and questioned it. The first in an annual series is around

Meer Taqi Meer- the great Urdu poet and the themes carry as titles lines of his poetry – City, Nature, Love and Loneliness.

Shri Ashok Vajpeyi, Shri Muzaffar Ali and Shri Vikram Lall have come together with Indian International Centre and ‘Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti’ to host this prestigious festival of ‘Words in the Garden’.
