OCSI is delighted to announce our next cultural event and would like to invite you for a guided tour of Sanskriti Kendra, New Delhi on Sunday, 2 April 2017.

Sanskriti Foundation, a registered public charitable trust was set up in 1978 with the mission to help preserve and promote India’s artistic and cultural resources and traditions. It’s centre at Anandagram in New Delhi, with the functional spaces, facilities, studios, and other cultural resources, is a hub of artistic endeavour. Sanskriti has three established museums; Museum of Indian Terracotta, Museum of Everyday Art and Museum of Indian Textiles, which we will explore through a tour guided by the curators of the museum.

Dr. Jyotindra Jain, an eminent and renowned Indian art historian and museologist will also join us for an interaction. Dr. Jain is a former Director of the National Crafts Museum, New Delhi, Founder Professor and Dean of the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawahar Lal Nehru University and Member Secretary of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi. He was also a Visiting Professor at the Centre for the Study of World Religions, Harvard University. Dr. Jain received the Prince Claus Award in 1998 for his contribution to Indian art and culture.

Meeting Point: We will meet at the entrance of Sanskriti Kendra at 11.15 am ( click here for the route map).

Time and Duration:  The guided tour will start at 11.30 am sharp and will be for approximately 1.5 hours. This will be followed by a sumptuous lunch especially prepared for the OCSI members and their guests.

Charges:  Rs. 800 per person (inclusive of guided tour and lunch).

Payment can be at the venue to Ms. Neha Goyal. Cheques could be made in favor of  “The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India”. Please also find below details of electronic transfer should you prefer to do so.
