WHAT – HERITAGE WALK
WHERE – QUTUB MINAR
WHEN – 6TH NOVEMBER, 10 AM TO 12:15 PM

D elhi is a leading repository of India’s rich culture and heritage. The Qutub Minar is the most instantly
recognizable silhouette on Delhi’s skyline. This iconic structure, together with the numerous buildings
in the complex around it, constitutes formative stages in the evolution of the cultural and architectural
history of North India and is a great starting point to understand the history and architecture of Delhi.
The heritage walk will be led by historian, Dr. Swapna Liddle. She is the author of ‘Delhi : 14 Historical
Walks’, and is the convenor of Delhi Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).
She has been leading heritage walks around the city for several years.

MEETING POINT – At the ticket counter of Qutub Minar at 10:00 AM.
TIME & DURATION – The walk will start at 10:15 AM sharp and will be for approximately 2 hours.
CHARGES – There is a ticket charge at Qutub Minar – Rs 30 for Indians, citizens of
SAARC and BIMSTEC countries, and Rs 500 for others.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION – Please wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water.
REGISTRATION – Walk is open to the members of OCSI and their guests. Prior registration is mandatory for the heritage walk as there are limited number of places. Please email Neha Goyal by Friday, November 4, 2016
